Search tips
- There are a variety of search options available: from searching by an artist's name to looking up via particular type of artwork.
- To search is very simple: first select a category, enter search term(s), then click the Search button.
- You can enter whole words or part of words.
- Once you have click the Search button, your search Results will be displayed. You can click on the Artwork title for full details.
Below is an explaination of the various options:
Select the search category
- Artist: search by the artist first name, last name or both
- Title of the artwork: search by words in the title of the artwork
- Description of the artwork: search by words in the description of the artwork
- Medium: search by the materials that where used to create the artwork
- Keywords: search by any general word or words
- Inscription on the artwork: search by artist's signature, markings, dating, etc.
- Date of the artwork: search by the date the artworks where made
- Ref ID: search by our unique identifying number for the artwork
Display results
- Without thumbnails (quicker): displays the results of your search without thumbnails (i.e. small images of the artworks)
- With thumbnails: displays the results of your search with thumbnails (i.e. small images of the artworks). Takes longer to load on your screen.
Enter your search term(s)
- Enter any word, words or part of a word and click the Search button. The results of your search will be displayed on your screen.
